I have a 16yr old beginning pitcher, RH. She says her left hip pops when her stride leg lands. She's just beginning so her stride isn't anything ginormous. She told me this after practice the other day so I haven't looked to see if there's anything obvious. I've got 20years in this game but I'm a newbie when it comes to working with pitchers. The only thing I could think of to watch is how her stride foot lands.. if she's near 45* or where it is. I had noticed early on that she would be leaning forward at release and tried to get her body position back farther. So I'm wondering where I need to look in her motion to be able to eliminate this issue. Yes I'm sure you'll want a video, if I get one I'll try to figure out how to post it. Thanks everyone.

My daughter had the same issue so I asked around a bit as well. The common thread I found from girls that had similar problems was that it happened in the years they had big growth spurts. Apparently the bones grow faster than muscles and ligaments (I'm no doctor). The discomfort would come when planting that front foot for resistance. We started using KT Tape to manage it, and have been pleased with the support it provides.

My DD has hip pain from pitching as well. How do you apply it?
