I've been working with some of my pitchers on keeping the back leg locked and loaded, to create the forward lean. Lots of them get it and it's not hard for them. My dd is not one of these, she does everything to not lean forward and it's hurting lots of others things in her mechanics, it breaks the chain right from the get go (I think).

I like that this girl gets a great drive without keeping that back leg "loaded", cuz it shows me that there is more then one way to get it done. I guess I should add, she does look like she's loading the back leg, it's just she's doing it her own way.

Knightsb - your GIF's are as always, amazing. I take so much away from you and the other GIF gurus on this board and always appreciate you taking time to post them for all to see.
With that said, Hoover has always amazed me with her drive. I noticed it last year for the first time and took a video on my phone that I look at now and again. I don't want to highjack this thread on the illegal pitch stuff, but would love to hear thoughts on her start to her drive. She bends both knees deeper/further than anyone I have seen and then TAKEOFF! Really impressive IMO.

Hard to see clearly, but it does not seem that Hoover gets any brush. She has a significant tilt to right. Like watching her pitch, love her competetiveness but dont show DD her gifs/vids for emulation. (of course we are still playing whack-a-mole in mechanics development!)

Carly Hoover is a great pitcher because she is 6'2" and brings it, not because she has perfect mechanics...
