Looking to get DD a new glove. Her org gets discounts from Wilson, so I am looking at getting a A2K model. I noticed they have a pitching model where the webbing is designed to hide the grip, I guess?

How important is that? Can a batter really see the grip through the webbing?

Also, if I got this pitching model, are there going to be any issues with DD using the glove to play 1B, 3B or OF?

I don't think it matters at all, but wanted some other opinions from you smart people.

In reality, there isn't anything special about a pitcher's glove. It's the same as any other regular fielder's glove, and can be used just fine at any other fielding position. IMO, web style is a matter of preference.

When I think of a pitching glove, I think weight of the glove.

Interesting about the web, I wonder if it is also a little bit lighter.

The biggest concern should be the weight. The most import role for the pitchers glove is to protect the face. So the lighter the better. After that it is all a matter of personal preference. My DD has a 12.5" Easton Mako and a Vinci that she uses depending on the uniform of the day. Back in the day she used a Worth Liberty and a Wilson A2K. All are light and get the job done. :)

That's one of the factors a I keep in mind for an infielder, too. Quickness is important.

A hitter can't pick a grip out through any web at 40-47 feet. The tip offs are digging for the grip or showing it to the 3rd base coach.
