DD's been using the synthetic dream-seam. they were okay, but it seems the seams have worn down after repeated use.

pro-leather better feel than synthetic?

This question seems to pop-up about once every 6 months. I believe you'll find that the general consensus is either the Dudley Thunder Heat leather or the Worth Dream Seam leather. Both seams hold up better than most others but the Dudleys last longer for hitting practice after the seams wear down IMO.

ETA:You'll find the occasional Pitcher that likes the Daimond leather balls which also last quite a long time for hitting afterwards.

Unlike bowling you do not get to bring your own ball to the game. So it really does not matter what she likes. Get her what she will be throwing in games. :)

I'm not sure what they use in HS or TB games. The Dream Seam we got a while back were synthetic. not sure if synthetics are better or worse than leather. I'll need to check in the next HS game :)

My state mandates a certain ball for high school. I bet most states do the same.

Our state does too...

If your looking for good practice balls that are comparable to the dream seam with out spending $60-$70 a dozen. Try looking for MacGregor DY1214, 12LLY, Little League ball.... .47 COR, Comp 375, leather
The local youth league got them years ago, and I still have some in my buckets from 7-8 years ago. Great seams, holds up extremely well. I've continued to buy them since...

Agree with yocoach with those softballs. This is what we mainly see in tournaments. When playing PGF, they use Sterling balls but they are comparable to the Dudley and Worth.
