Oh, gee. I have an 11 yo student that is getting pretty good. That is always when someone else tries to interfere and change things.

Someone's mom strolled out, at practice and insisted that my student needed a back swing.

Then, the child's mom had to go out and tell Random to not coach my student.

Arguing ensued.

One of the dads on my younger one's ex-team, who is a very nice guy (fwiw, lol), was instructing my older daughter (who plays baseball) in how to "squish the bug." Now, my focus is on pitching right now and I have not really delved into the hitting forums much at all. But even I know that's not what I want her learning. As soon as he walked off I told her just to ignore him. She already has a great swing, naturally. Let's leave it alone, mmkay? I wish people would think before they do this stuff.

One parent on DD's Teams randomly helps with pitchers, she is smart enough to leave DD alone.

She pulled out weighted balls one day, DD decided she wanted to sit in the dugout for a little bit.

If we take the element of sports out of it, this kind of behavior makes no sense. It would be like someone walking up to someone else's kid during lunch and telling them what they should or shouldn't eat. While they may have valid opinions, they have no right; and there's definitely more than one way to eat lunch. People never cease to amaze me.

This type of behavior is fairly routine from a hitting perspective. Much more common at the younger and less experienced levels.

Yes. This does happen a couple of times a year. My older students, reply "I have a pitching coach, but thanks." This young lady just moved to 40 feet and our emphasis is on stride. This mom had no idea. She wasn't even supposed to be on the field.

When, I see a parent interfering (if I am the coach) I remind them that in Little League, they cannot be on the field due to insurance purposes and lack of background checks.
