Little more focus on OUT. Little less focus on UP. Sort of like this.

Mothgirl, overlap is the bane of my DD's existence as well! If you find the magic words that makes the concept click in the brain, please let me know!

Anyway, my eyes see she is a little late with her snap, releasing the pitch toward the front of her thigh rather than the back. I'm just looking at PC's gif he made for you, but that's what I'm seeing. This will also cause a loss of velocity and pitches to go high. Has she recently adjusted for a forward posture to a more correct backward posture?

Of course, I'm often wrong, so grain of salt and all that.

My DD gets a pretty good push off by 3:00. Emphasis has always been pushing her glove straight to the catchers mitt.


When speaking of driving her glove straight to the catchers mitt this picture shows how far back the glove travels. Her glove goes back with the ball past her hip concealing the ball till it drops slightly behind her back so the glove drive creates considerable forward momentum.
