Wow. This looks like vintage Barnhill. Not at all what I saw last weekend vs Michigan. Granted she will get away with much more at home than on the road. I cannot see how her crowhop is not providing a competitive advantage.

Is it me or with that side view shot you can clearly see her hopping, replanting and getting more drive after the replant? It is not a lot, but it is there.

It amazes me that she made it this far pitching illegally that way.

I asked the same question when she played with EC Bullets.

She never gets called for it in High School!

Got to say that she is very strong. Pure power.

The thing is it looks like "not a lot" watching slow motion, I think it would be very tough to call that illegal while watching it live with any amount of certainty.

The bottom line is that you do not call it on a Florida pitcher if you ever want to work another home game.

It is like everything else with softball.

There are a lot of things that we 'see' that we really don't see. We see the result and know it is the result of X so we know X is happening. You can watch her throw full speed and because you know what a crow hop looks like you know she's doing it. The replant itself would make me watch her closely to begin with.

Someone needs to do a study on if crow hopping gives a benefit, how much, etc.
