I am stoked that we have another skippy on a top team. This should keep the conversation going on the pitching rules and maybe lead to some changes. She is going to have opposing coaches bursting blood vessels.
Pure power is right.... she gets ZERO brush on the forearm.... maybe just a touch of brush as her bicep contacts the ribs. minimal at best.
When they played Michigan last weekend Hutch was in the umpires ear with from the first pitch. And is was not nearly as bad as what was is shown is this thread.
Her glove arm motion is so unusual. I had to watch the side view slow mo several times just to make sure there wasn't a sync issue.

She has to be to time her throw down the backside with her replant. She really is the pitching equivalent of a hot mess. Impressive that she can come in as a freshman and shut down Michigan though.
Anyone got any idea how fast that pitch was ???
"hot mess" - good analogy.
She looks a lot like a pitcher who overcame some probably crazy mechanics in the past,
through sheer athleticism, strength, and lots of evolving repetition.
The vestiges are: re-plant, forward leaning posture, forward release, and leaking energy to her left.
They are all still there, and were probably much more apparent when she was younger.
Some kids are just plain strong and athletic enough to overcome all of this,
and I bet she worked VERY HARD to get where she is.
Like others have said, she's impressive as a freshman to be this effective!
(I didn't say "good" because I don't think she is a "model pitcher" candidate.)

Read her bio on the Gators website. She's done a lot dominating for someone so unorthodox.
