Great stuff. A couple of observations:

1) her plant (stride) foot is almost pointed directly to home plate (instead of the often taught 45 degree);

2) I don't see much brush interference (or on the Barnhill video recently posted)?

Wondering if its the type of pitch or maybe for the typical D1 pitcher, not critical to get BI to be effective? The reason I ask is DD gets only "bicep brush" and was wondering if its critical to get to 60mph+ and greater than 22 rps?

I actually like the no back swing. Makes the delivery more compact and easier to repeat in my opinion.

Good luck to her this year. Hope to see SC in the big tourney this year as I don't often get to watch softball during the season.

It's nice to have a rooting interest in someone if even just through the extended DFP family.

Thanks! That has always been her signature pitch. She was not too happy with her performance yesterday, especially her strike ratio of only 50%. Hopefully she has her "A" game this weekend. A 4 game sweep could get them some traction in the polls. :)

BTW - Jake did not know about DFP until yesterday. She was totally taken back by all of the support. A big Thank You to all!

I pull for her bigtime for three reasons...

1) Riseball has always been very helpful with advice and suggestions for my DD.
2) Chipola JC is in the county where I grew up in NW Florida and my Uncle taught welding at Chipola JC. I have a lot of family in that area.
3) Now Jake is pitching at SC which is my Alma Mater.

Go Cocks!

As the parent of a pitcher who has a lot of glove whirl/swim, whose foot lands less than 45 degrees most of the time and is still finding her brush this gives me a lot of hope! Would love to see footage of other pitches when possible. We are on Team Jake from here in Oregon!!

Her stride foot used to come down around 45 degrees. The straight toward home may be a result of working not to step across?

She may get more brush on the 2 seam vs the rise. She only has 3 pitches - 2 seam, rise, and CU. Spoke to her last night and she said she quit throwing the 2 seam running in to a RHB. I asked what she is throwing inside and she said I throw it at their front leg and let it come back into the river. :)

I'm trying to visualize this? What pitch does she throw that starts at the RHB batter's front leg and comes back into the river?

Glad to hear you say that. I was watching looking for her 2 seamer riding into a RHB and saw the opposite a few times and was wondering if it was an optical illusion.
