There is a big hitter that comes around on the ball and tends to drive hits foul of the third base line. She can hit all through the zone. What would you call as your pitch selection to such a hitter? When she does hit it is usually over the left fielder.

I'm so bad at this but it's interesting anyway. Curious to see what the responses are. I'm thinking if she hits foul down the third base line, she's ahead of the ball. So a change up or off speed fast ball maybe?

low/away.
If she's an "around the ball" hitter it's awfully tough to pull that pitch with any power.
Wrists usually roll early in such circumstances resulting in weak(er) ground balls...

To keep her honest, bust her inside every so often though...

Could play it lots of ways but off speed and inside should produce tons off foul balls the danger being you float it down the middle and she waits on it you could produce a HR over the left fielder

Since you should be living out there anyway low, hard and outside wins the day in my opinion; pretty hard to hit around a knee high pitch on the outside black, all this assumes you have correctly assessed the batter and your pitcher can hit her spots :)

Depending on how much control your pitcher has I would throw inside riseballs and drop balls, make sure they are in the black, so even if batter gets around on them she will probably foul them off. Once she knows your pitcher is not afraid to come inside, the outside part of the plate should open up. I also love to throw first pitch change ups to big hitters. Difficult pitch to hit hard and most batters will take it for a strike, putting the pitcher ahead in the count.

The most important thing is knowing your pitcher's kill-pitch. This changes from day to day and game to game.
The next important thing is for your pitcher to throw her strengths, never throw to a batter's weakness.
Call the pitches that will cause a ground ball or high pop-up (provided they are in the strengths of your pitcher).

If she truly casts her hands... I'm probably throwing inside... especially if my pitcher can bring some heat.

To give my best response I would have to see her swing and where she stands in the box. Without seeing that I would agree with JAD's opinion. Those inside drops are very effective against these type of hitters. I like JAD's pitch set up as well. Inside drop, then maybe a CU, then go outside and low. Nothing is more satisfying to my DD than to throw an effective CU to the big hitters.

Push her off the plate inside right on the hands then CU outside low. Then high and tight then low and outside fastball. CU low inside follow by fastball low outside. And move LF back.
