We moved this fall from the Midwest to the VA area. We had little time to vet a lot of teams, but we thought we found a good fit. We found a team that at that time (tried out in June) said they would have about three pitchers and would see circle time. ( This is only her second year pitching.) She is not a #1 or #2 pitcher.

Fast forward to fall all we had 12 games and she pitcher 1 inning. We have five pitchers and I see very little possibility she will see circle time. We are getting approached by another team what should we do?

I'd at least check out the other team. One inning in 12 games with 4 other pitchers is not what you signed up for. Just do your best to vet the new team well before you decide so you don't end up getting a team hopper rep.

Find a good fit for your dd. Put her on a team where she can pitch. I don't see the point of sitting for one team, when she could be pitching for another.

Move her to the other team. She will never get any pitching time with 5 pitchers and she needs circle time to get better! Also keep in mind there is a lot of movement between teams from Fall to Spring so changing teams at this point is not a huge deal but don't wait too long.

If she really wants to be a pitcher she needs to pitch somewhere. What you need to ask yourself thought is if she really is a pitcher? Are you willing to put in the time and money it will take to succeed?

If SHE really wants to pitch, you have to jump ship. 5 pitchers is too many. If she likes the team and wants to stay there, knowing she'll have to work her tail off and improve to get more innings.....then stick with it and find a rec league where she may be able to get some innings. One note, if the other 4 pitchers are deep rooted multi year players..she'll need to be NOTICEABLY better to cut in on the action.

I had same issue with my dd we opted to stay on team with the hopes that if she worked hard she could eventually get innings. We got her on a rec league that needed pitchers, to get her more time. I wish we would have just found her a team where she could pitch. It's what we ended up doing anyway. Don't sit and wait for them to play her, move on.

While it won't seem as though I'm staying in harmony with your original question, contact Rick Pauly (Richmond) and have your DD see him for pitching instruction as much as you can, even if it's only a couple times a month.

1. Jump on DR's suggestion as fast as you can and consider yourself FORTUNATE that you have Coach Pauly within driving distance!

2. Follow what everyone else said and find a team that needs pitching.

Good luck!
