Since you already high-jacked this thread. While she is looking very good, one thing I noticed is she gets "zero brush". Start brushing and she will be well on her way...and just for the heck of it, experiment with sliding her pivot foot along the pitching plate before her drive. DD starting doing this and she seems to have gained some better drive mechanics and it feels very comfortable to her.

I didn't see the reason for her making such a concerted effort to plant that foot as a follow-up. This is just a warmup
Until lastnight ^ with the slide....

I see what you are talking about. I would point out that your kid's third base fall is caused as much by the drive as by the lean. when using that slide, you want to make sure it does not induce a side to side sway during the drive. As she is loading she is doing a lot of side to side loading as well as back and forth. Also, her glove cradle gets really deep and opens her up early. I think that is why she has so much third base bleed off of energy.

When my DD started using a slide we saw the same thing. Fixed it by reducing the glove cradle so that the ball is in the glove only until both reach the rear leg on the back swing (like ueno) and focused on an bringing all the energy to the catcher on the drive. Reducing the cradle lets her face more forward at launch as opposed to having her torso twisted to the side.

No.... This is just where we were last night.... I have every intention of DD Mastering the BI as described here @ DFP. I intend to keep track of the progress. I still am working feet first.....

I see.

Just an observation. Your DD appears to simply walk off of her rear leg, whereas Ueno uses her rear leg much more in getting the party started.

The front foot becomes lifted. The center of pressure is 100% on the rear foot as she aligns her body into an aggressive sprinter's orientation.

There is power in this.

Personally, given her body type, I don't think she should slide her foot quite as much as she does. Further, I think she's over twisting her shoulders in the beginning. And, if she were to sprint toward you, what distance would there be between her feet?
