I got into a discussion the other day while DD was doing some of her long toss work. I was asked approximately how fast she would have to throw from certain distances to make it to the plate. I remember seeing a post on here with that info on it but I couldn't find it to show. Does anyone remember what the speeds are?

Found this online. I'm not sure if it's accurate.

100 ft = 50mph
125 ft = 55mph
150 ft = 60mph
200 ft = 65mph

I'm right here.
Are you talking about underhand long toss? I am only familiar with doing overhand long toss as part of the warm-up and stretching routine. Is underhand long toss a recommended strengthening exercise for pitchers? I can't say I have ever seen anyone throw a ball underhand these distances.

Thanks,

T

My daughter has a love/hate relationship with it. It works well. Rick Pauly has a post somewhere about how they use it and that is the method we use.
