Ken,

Flexion is the key to throwing the rise and curve, no doubt. Go back to the earlier posts in this thread and you'll see it was mentioned a bunch. There was another thread where I made gifs for you of under vs over the thumb. When you throw over the thumb, there is no way to throw OVER unless the wrist is flexed... unless your throwing illegally sidearm... same goes with under the thumb... you lose the flexion... you're throwing around the thumb. Under is SIGNIFICANTLY harder to reproduce with fluency.

Free clinic in NY for ya... ;) could be heading to California soon, too.

Never said I was quick! I'm so slow that I just started game 2 of the WCWS... It amazes me how much I can gloss over or forget...

Ken, Java mentions a post in which he demonstrates grips. I remember this from early days of learning from DFP maestros. Is this thread still viable or have those gifs been lost to the digital netherworld?
PS thanks for bumping all these great thread from time to time!

Is anyone familiar with the grip Chelsea uses here?

I assume this is her offspeed grip by the positioning of her thumb.

Just think how many people/coaches that said "you can't pitch that way, that will never work under pressure or at the next level, blah, blah, blah.
Kind of like bowler that don't use thumb hole.
Maybe a pitcher will come throwing with both hands on the ball or would that break a rule??

The pitch begins when the hands separate, so there never would be a pitch?
