So do you rub it on it prior to pitching or use it afterwards or drink it ???

Soaks after. Inside of index finger used to get rubbed raw from throwing riseball. DD said it helped heal and made skin tougher. It is basically salt and vinegar. Probably a more elegant solution is available but if it works...

I always also used to keep superglue in my bucket as a quick fix if needed. Used as last resort only but it worked very well.

Nolan Ryan, inarguably the greatest Major League Baseball pitcher of all time, soaked his fingers in pickle juice to toughen them and prevent them from getting blisters. Urban legend has it that guitar great Eric Clapton builds calluses on his fingertips by swabbing rubbing alcohol on them two to three times daily. This causes the skin to dry out and calluses to thicken, thereby protecting his fingertips. Tactics that work for the pros will work for you, too.

Never questioned it but it sure sounds like there is something to it. :)

People who post here have reported that practicing palm up behind them caused their skin to start falling off randomly, especially from Fingers.......Toes.......Knees........Etc.........
