Re: Dallas, in real-time it always looks to me that she has a locked arm on the downswing but clearly she does not. I think the head lean to her left and the way she keeps the arm very close to her body adds to this illusion. It also seems that she will throw the "riseball" to any and all locations (inside, outside, high, low) which is truly exceptional. I know one thing, I wouldn't want to face ASU in the WCWS:)

more and more I am convince they are the same pile :)

I agree. In spite of the obvious, I discounted the significance of brush when I first heard/read about it. Now I add it to the list of stuff I wish I knew about years ago...

I have been working with my 8 year old cousin for about 2 months (her parents want to make sure she is into it before they invest in a coach). Complete beginner, she has been watching college softball and has become obsessed with the stride. When she pitches it's a step, and when she tries to stride it's more of a hop up in the air (definite Crow hop). How do I teach the long stride or should we leave it alone and focus on just the arm mechanics for now?

1) When is a good time in the season to change from HE to IR? DD has been stagnant for a while with HE style.

2) What is a typical time frame for this transition?

3) Any other questions I need to consider?
