Her timing looks good. I check the 12 oclock...3 oclock and it looks good. Her coach just says she looks slow. SO if timing is good....and you want to increase arm speed or be more aggressive on your leap does that affect timing? 1. If she pushes more aggressively on her leap...does she then leap further or have her foot hit in the same spot resisting more? 2. If she speeds up her arm speed I assume it would be after 3 oclock on the whip/release phase?

Thanks...

If you want to speed up her arm, then she delays when she starts her arm moving forward.

BUT: It sounds like you are really obsessing over arm speed. You may not know this, but there is a method of pitching called slingshot. In slingshot, the arm is taken back to 12 o'clock using a backswing, and the pitch is throw when the ball first passes the hip. Although they are rare, slingshot pitchers generate the same speed as windmill pitchers.

How fast is she throwing? What is her age?

At 12U, a good pitcher will be throwing around 50 MPH. Around 16, a good pitcher will be throwing somewhere between 55 and 60. Good college pitchers throw around 62 mph. The superb college pitchers throw 68 mph. There are a couple of college pitchers who throw 70 mph.

If she is throwing at an appropriate speed for her age, then worry more about control, breaking pitches and change-ups.
