softballgirl06 I've recently had some a-ha moments thanks to JS. With forearm fire the focus is to get to extension after the "snap". When doing so you tend to bypass brush and it also allows for the shoulders to rotate too much during the release. Although it seemed as if I was teaching the I/R because I would teach palm up at 9, palm down after release I was missing some big parts of it. When your bicep (arm from shoulder to elbow) cushions into the body you want to stabilize that front shoulder in doing so you can really feel the forearm turn over on it's own. To me it feels like I'm rolling my forearm over my hip. That's what really lets loose the whip because without the brush then energy doesn't transfer to the smaller parts and then through the finger tips. It's better than palm down at 9:00 but there is lots of room for improvement.

cnardone and other DFP-er's I think it's about time we had our own list of instructors. I'm willing to host or maintain it until we have somewhere to put it (a.k.a. fastpitch foundations?). What do you think? Even if your schedule is full it would be nice to have a list.
I think I will start a new thread with this question.

So, if I am understanding by pretty much bypassing the hip with forearm fire you are not going to get any spin on the ball, or very little.
