Hello all,

So my daughter is 8, just moving up to 10U and has been working with a pitching coach regularly before the holidays. He kept saying he was going to get started again any day, but I got a call yesterday that his work schedule changed and he is unavailable for the foreseeable future. He is a great coach and my daughter really liked working with him. Now, we are desperately seeking a new coach.

His style was kind of open/linear. When we started, I had no clue what he was talking about but it seemed to make sense. Now, I have a lead on a good pitching coach who payed for Andrea at Arizona but she teaches "full rotational". I'm lost. It's all new to me and especially my daughter. I don't know if I should mess with changing her style at this age.

Can anyone help me understand the difference and give some advice on whether this would be a bad move for her.

Thanks for the help.

Email from potential coach quoted...

Full rotation is where they finish the pitch with their hips square to home plate. In my opinion it gets them ready to field a ball instead of leaving them open and falling towards 3rd base. Being able to field and protect themselves to me is number one.

Better to fall towards 3rd base then being squared to home plate.
