Good Luck... Make sure you are doing what you know is the best, based on all you know at this time. Your DD is going to need to get 10,000 reps just to get started. Once you get on that road, turning back is tough.

Another thought is Coaches are the end consumer of your product. Most are connected to teams. Even when your DD is good, and or even the best, you will face theses issues.

I'm concerned with going with someone new to the area, that hasn't put one across locally to distinguish themselves, and have the club connections. I have went with the international coach method, and we face the opposition from the indigenous folks. You see you just don't beat the other team, you beat the local culture, including your HC. And their total history... IR as we know it on here is foreign to our area. I have only seen one #2 pitcher attempting it this fall ball season. You will need a team to apply your craft on.

Think about it... would the team even want to use you for batting practice. They want the ones who are going to be close to what they will face. To change the area, requires a State Championship. Its a pay to play sport. Your PC will keep you linked to local teams...they are like an agent.

I'm with you now. Our old pitching coach was the primary pitching coach for what many would argue is the premier travel organization in our region. I've spoken with my friends there, and they are working on new coaches as well.

As for a team, we played 8U travel in the fall but went back to rec for the spring. As soon as spring is over, we are going 10U travel. I know this is bit unorthodox but I think it is going to work well for us. My "assistant coach" runs by the most successful baseball travel team in our area, with multiple MLB all stars coming through his program. He's also a scout for the Phillies. Because he has 2 daughters that I coach, he wants to build a softball organization as well. This is great for me because he brings outstanding facilities, outside funding, and a billion other things that we help us progress quickly.

But for the purposes of this response, it means that we have teams to pitch to. We are actually looking for a PC to really stay with us and grow with us. Any ideas you have to help us, I would welcome.

Sounds like you got the opportunity to put it all together. I am involved as well with one of the premier teams around here. One suggestion is to have a pitching staff with each pitcher having a different style. This might include the others with different PC's. Just like you never throw the same pitch twice, at the same speed... be able to mix up the pitchers. Good Luck :{))
