when my son playing baseball in high school his coach hated when he played golf on weekends because he said it messed with his muscle memory on his baseball swing ?

Now I ask because my daughter has been playing field hockey and since then she has been popping up to second and late on the balls !

I just thank God its a fall sport . Any ideas here ?

In your face
Got one for the older group. As a family we used to play 'cork ball'. Take a cork from a bottle ( 2.5 inches long ) wrap it with white medical tape to give it some weight. Now cut a broom so all you have is the stick. And you play same rules as baseball.

Anyone on here that has played cork ball knows that sucker can dance. My dad could throw one at your feet and break up around your head. There is an art to it, but I never had it. :)

I always felt those 'fun' games really helped our family as hitters. Try hitting an object 2.5 inches breaking all over the place with a 1 inch wide broom stick.

I am not certain that field hockey is messing up her swing. As I recall, the hands are way apart on the stick, unlike golf.

Pujols grew up in Dominican Republic playing stickball in street with a broomstick....or so I was told.

Isnt that like asking "does walking interfere with a H-1B time" , or "does playing golf hurt a MLB players swing" .

Im just going out on a limb here, but my guess is the human body and mind can learn two distinctly separate things that share common elements, and still keep them separate.
