Do not change anything. That is great. The only thing that I would say, is "After your swing, do not whip the bat back around toward the catcher. Take one hand off and get set, again."

Any gap in the hands in not effecting her.

I'm going to preface my comments by saying that there are lots of different ways to hit a ball. However as the pitching gets better, it becomes more important to maximize swing efficiency. So a swing that works fine in Rec Ball or Travel "B" ball, may break down against better "A" level pitching. I'm not sure what your goal is for your daughter's swing, however, if your goal is to maximize her power and adjustability, I see room for improvement. Without getting into a lot of detail I see the following:

1. She appears to load her hands back at the same time she picks up her front foot to coil (all back).
2. I see little to no stretch or separation into heel plant (all forward).
3. I see her hands disconnect from her rear armpit area as she slots her back elbow (simple ADduction).

IOW, this is a fairly typical FP swing that can work depending on the player's size, athleticism and competition level.

Proper synchronization using the overhand throw motion as a template with an added emphasis on externally rotating the back arm to assist with keeping the hands connected to the rear armpit area, would IMO help increase her efficiency and power.

she works at it and wants to get better. Is she D1 absolutly not. She is a sophmore looking to get better and have success. Maybe D2 or D3???

Thanks for your replies.

Wellphyt;

1) when should this occur?
2)what type of stretch are we looking for here?
3)should the hands stay at the armpit?

thanks again for all the help

I think she needs to get wider? Any other help is welcomed as well. Was dropping hands. think we have cured that. Did notice she appears to have a gap between her hands??? Where did that come from?? LOL

She's got a negative stride, where her front foot moves back toward the catcher rather than forward toward the pitcher during the stride, which contributes to the sub-optimal separation (and probably some loss of power and average).

She's got to move to a no stride or small stride and then you can work on improving separation.

Upper body looks above average, she moves well, and she wants to hit the ball hard.

No she doesn't. Her stride is similar to Mendoza, with a narrower base.
She is not there in terms of posture, she is too upright.
And, she does get separation as Candrea describes it.

If you look at the clip frame by frame, you can clearly see that her front foot goes backwards an inch or so.

Nope, it doesn't.
Just looked at the mp4 conversion I made.
Front comes up on the toe and rolls back down.
Many players do this.
It is not an issue.
The kid has a much above average swing for her age.

While she does have a nice swing, in the first swing her front toe moves rearward an inch or so and her front heel moves rearward 3 to 4 inches.

Wow. Theaddition, recheck your mp4, she sure does slide her front foot back. It's hard to put markers on the video because the camera is being held by the person doing the soft toss, but it is clearly there. Look at the contact points of her feet after POC as she goes into the V position. Outside (pinkie toe) of her back foot and outside edge of her front foot.
KRD005, that is an impressive swing she's got. As Chris CORRECTLY stated, she is actually pulling and replanting her front foot backwards, robbing her of power. The amount of force she is generating then seems to throw her slightly out of balance. Similar to what Amy said, it would be interesting to see her finish her swing, then hold that position for a few seconds and see if she feels off balance.
