How about it do you like the hands away from the back shoulder a little or at the back shoulder? What way provides a greater stretch?

What’s the above clip showing, the former or the latter?

As a rough rule of thumb ... in the 'stance' I like to have the hands comfortably 6-9" away/out-front from the chest/rear-shoulder ... and have the hands approximately over the rear foot at 'swing launch'.

Hands away from body, not allot, just away and not locked into the back shoulder.

I think the hands locked is ideal but may drift away slightly as part of adjusting to the pitch.

This is a touchy thing to measure mainly because different hand sets and shifts/loads will yield different ‘looks’ to how the hands ‘load’ the barrel. Bottom line, you want the hands behind/slightly even with the rear shoulder at toe touch dependent on the timing of the pitch.

Robinson Cano will ‘take’ his hands with him during his forward move... Miggy hands will go back slightly. Just a few examples. Mookie is more of a hands go back guy. But are his hands really going back or is his body going forward? Or both!?

It’s just setting the angle while the body gets into a good position to hit. And since the sequence was good.. lag was created.

I like what Mankin has to say about the hip/shoulder/bat lag. He suggested that you focus on the barrel arcing throughout the entire swing/arc, supplying energy to the barrel or TTB immediately. Although, there is some natural lag in overcoming a body at rest. So the barrel is at rest (somewhat) and the act of overcoming this creates lag between the hip/shoulder/barrel.
