I am just a novice at analyzing video but she seems to be swinging with her arms and not getting much help from her core or torso. She gathers herself back and seems to do okay with removing slack but when she launches she rotates the torso directly into the incoming pitch. IMO she needs to work on launching the swing INTO her pull back without actively rotating out of it. Tilt will be needed to accomplish this. Since she is a right handed hitter her slack removal or pull back should put the shoulder line in a direction of the second baseman's position and she should launch the swing with that direction in mind. I believe you should watch the video about creating a corner (which I believe she is doing) and launching behind that corner (which she isn't doing). Teacherman put out the video a couple of weeks ago. Maybe Patar can post a link I believe he has it.

She hitting the ball too far out in front. Slow down the front toss feed. Have an op o mentality

Agree with alot of this. I'm not a one size fits all coach as hitters will have their own style. But there are 3 things that I believe in. Upper body lean over feet, butt out. Pull back arms to create upper body separation (resistance) at stride or leg lift, and finally back hip firing to initiate the swing. This allows the bat to enter the strike zone early and have a slight upward motion to drive the ball to the green.

Thanks for all responses. DrDrodd or patter do either of you know how I can get that link you spoke of? She was working with a hitting instructor last year but he took on different duties, so I am trying to work on her swing and any information from a trained eye is appreciated. She worked on separation last year and had a productive year but I see something(s) missing in her swing this year. Thanks again.

Really drops them hands down to the ball. Effects the swing path...which is down to the ball through the ball.... instead of up through the ball.
