Isn't this a clip of the spinal engine at work? ;)

Launch position,

I think she is bending at the waist and not at the hip joints. The shoulders and posture needs work. The hands are to far beyond the back foot.

I wonder if this kid has been hearing a cue somewhat akin to "stay back".

Somewhat. Its almost like the pendulum has gone back the other way too far. She used to swing off her front foot, almost falling over it. Now she's too far back. I will work on some of what I've read here. Keeping her head more forward and not past her rear foot, as well as loading and getting her weight going more forward instead of back.

If she can think more along the lines of shifting back, vs moving back, it may help convey the “temporary” nature of the negative move.

As Mudders was describing earlier, it shouldn’t be load, pause, swing. A swing should be fluid, the body (torso?) constantly be stretched during both the negative move and “move out” (FBC) phases.

This part isn’t directed at Frosts daughter, but how often do we see the “load” being taught as just moving your weight to your back foot? Coaches are yelling “load!” as soon as the pitcher breaks her hands. But what’s being loaded? What potential energy is being stored (if I’m using the term correctly) by just weighting the back leg? Without the coil / stretch / resistance, you’re left with more of an armsy “swish” than a torso-driven swing.

All that being said - still looks like a powerful swing. I’d love to have that as a starting point for my 10U. :) Help her find that balance point between the two extremes of her swing (all back or all forward), and she’ll be in great shape.

Post a live arm swing if you have one. Advice so far has been good imo but for naught if her live arm swing is different....
