I was excited you started a thread. Only to get this^^^^^^ LOL. As a golfer I will watch it.

Ok I watched it. Excellent advice for golf and can also be applied to hitting. Main thing not to overlook is that it is ground up swing. The ability to turn the front shoulder fast starts with the lower body. The lower torso is throwing the upper torso. Let it go. Release it. Finish your swing. You should have posted this on the thread were the girl was not finishing her swing.

Yes, it is excellent advice. That's why I posted it.

And yes, if you want the lead shoulder to become turned fast, then you don't start your swing by 'actively' forcing the lead shoulder up & around, but instead use the torso to pull.

What am I missing here?? What advice? The faster you move the faster the club head?

And yet we see plenty of hitting advice that doesn't seem to recognize the importance of the lead shoulder.

Coach: Hey Sally, you opened up your lead shoulder again.

Sally: I know coach, I'll keep working on using my arms to swing. It feels awkward and lacks power, but I'll keep plugging away.

So that is the message.... just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything..... So are you saying that some coaches actually “coach” this movement out of hitters? Which is why the video is good advice?

The quickness of the lead shoulder is important.

Many coaches inadvertently coach a reduction in lead shoulder speed. Don't be one of them.
