Update from last night. Thoughts, comments, what faults to address? Thanks.

Tee is too far away from her. First thing I noticed. What pitch would putting the tee way out there represent? If she is working on hitting the outside pitch then tee would be placed much deeper. 12 to 18 inches deeper. Her swing is better. If you put the tee in the correct spot it would even be better yet. Is that a 35 inch bat?

Dang, forgot all about moving that back in, i guess i wasn't watching where her feet were. Next time will make sure as that was a comment the last time. thanks.

Bat is a 33/23 old Mayhem, ebay find. It has a blast sensor on the knob. Got it for the cages. Got a tight sweet spot though.

What did you work on changing since the swing you posted last week?

In all honesty, we worked on trying to tip the barrel more creating a scap load with more stretch. It seemed to help with the hip coil but still trying to work at it. Not sure if she just swung harder but bat speed up 7mph.

No judgement here my man. You guys are working hard, posting vid, and trying to get better. That’s awesome in itself.

IMO she’s turning less and pulling/pushing more witch accounts for the increase, muscling up. The turn in the old clip needed work as well though.

Two things to think about:
- Dont underestimate the neckslot. It took me years to realize its significance. When the handset is in a good position, turning becomes simple and smooth.
- I would recommend always videoing in full speed. It shows a lot more. You can tell what powers the swing by seeing it in real time.

Good luck

Lay the barrel on your trap. Hands near the arm pit. (Neckslot position)

Point knob to the height of the pitch (that's the significance of the black lines).

Turn barrel. Barrel replaces where the extended knob was.

This eliminates all wasted movement/slop. You are turning the barrel directly to the baseball. You are removing the arms from the swing. There is nothing more sudden.

No stride necessary. Anchor that back foot down. Just keep practicing replacing the knob with the barrel. Make turning the barrel as simple as possible.

PVC pipe is an awesome visual. We also do a ton of work choked halfway up our bat.

Got it thanks. What is this drill specifically addressing? I am just trying to understand what the feeling or cue is supposed to be when i tell my DD.

i guess my question is more where is the location of the start of the swing? And i dont mean to get into a debate on semantics, i am just more curious as to where you have your hitters start their arms at the start of their normal swing. And by start i just mean when they are looking at the pitcher. Is the bat resting on the shoulder and they swing from there?

How do i get to the position of the hands in this drill if i am starting with the barrel more vertical?

Thanks again.
