the tee is too far out in front or she is not gaining ground or both. Her belly button is in the same spot thru the whole swing. That's ok if this is a drill but.....

I don't buy that all you need to do is TTB with the hands. I absolutely don't buy the rearward snapping from a vertical position to back toward the catcher, I think your hitter is proof of that fallacy.

Thanks. I wasn’t implying that’s all you need, but was curious if there was any of that at needed. Just trying to add up all the pieces. But first need to know what each piece is.

I have to admit it is a lot more difficult to figure out the swing mechanics as there seem to be too many variables. In pitching there seems to be pretty specific goals as far as placement, orientation, movement. One two three.

There seem to be more hitters that are successful or that have been successful with many styles of swings, but elite pitchers have a pretty specific road to elite status.

Besides the high tee drill are there any other drills to help with torso and lower half? Thanks again.

Ok thanks. For this drill we were really only working on the snap down of the barrel as a test. As you will see it seems her hands initiate first and the rest of her body really does nothing but spin. In any case the contact point was much deeper in the zone because the snap got the barrel down and in the zone very quick and the tee ended up being farther out than needed. When she was pushing the knob more that was an ok spot for the tee.

As you mention has well she was not gaining ground either so that contributes some.

More tilt, less turn.

She is not doing it correctly.
