1.) Getting into legs during the stride. Anchor down to help achieve proper swing sequence from the ground up

2.) Stride and Stretch: creates some scap Load, core tension. Proper stride and hand stretch will control the front side and prevent many of the swing flaws we deal with (pulling off ball, lunging)

3.) Front hip works rearward to initiate swing/rotation: prevents player from drifting forward during swing and allows back knee to move forward

All this is JMHO

What are some of you hitting gurus top 3 hitting absolute teaches?

Biggest thing, off what you are getting at, swing at the dang thing.

2nd is if ball is out of pitchers hand before you start your swing , you are in trouble.

Your 2 and 3 are my biggies. And both are tough to correct once they're wrong. My DD lunged like crazy, but a medicine ball drill corrected that for her.

Timing (as quincy stated) is another one. Gotta get that sequence right and start early.

Hitting, in its purest essence, is timing and plane. If both are good you will be a good hitter. Timing boils down to having rhythm in stance (I hate girls that stand completely still in stance) and getting negative movement on the pitchers movement. Have to prepare the body to stride as soon as the ball hits pitchers hip

Not a "guru", but these are a few things I believe in...

1. Start slow and early - Give yourself enough time to do what you need to do to deliver the barrel on time at contact.
2. Create tension/resistance and get connected.
3. Hit hard, run fast, turn left.

Starting slow and early is so important for sequence. Ive had a tough time teaching my hitters to stride slower. Most hitters feel rushed and that’s not good. Early commital to the ball will result in poor at bats and lots of strike out. On a tee I do a slow stride drill where we try to stride as slow as possible. Results on tees are good! Sequence is good, power is good. As soon as we get to front Toss it all goes out the windo.

Any tips on teaching slower stride?

Please explain where the 'tension' is and when it is created. What is resisting, and when? What is 'connected' to 'what'?

Hey 5, I mean know disrespect as I know you know your stuff. All your posts asking for people to explain what they mean by this or that come off as holier than though. I could be totally wrong but that’s the impression I get. Again, no disrespect man. Just wondering why?

Yeah, our main hitting coach says "Calm, calm, explode!"

Calm on load, calm on stride, explode on swing.

I use a similar statement with my DD. With younger kids that is often a difficult thought process for them to trust it seems. First, their mechanics
may not actually allow them to wait as long as they need to and still get the barrel to the ball. You can start off nice and slow and under control, but if once you decide
to swing you are pushing the barrel through the zone...well good luck. Second, even if their mechanics do get their barrel up
to speed quickly enough, they have to trust that it does..if that makes sense. That comes with a bit of experience imo.
