That may be a decent way for some to understand it.

What she is doing to the forearm is what she should be doing to the bat.

She doesn't know how to send the barrel 'around' her forearm ... and instead sets up to send the barrel 'along' her forearm.

Which forearm?

What does that mean - to send the barrel around her forearm"?

Thanks!

And what do I need to tell her to do? Let bat down with her hands instead of her elbows?

In the bigs they talk about not looping or having to much of a backswing. In amateurs there is often not enough turning the barrel or a rotational point (rotational point being the hands). You really don't want looping, you want a tight turn of the top hand/forearm. A tight pivot point. Right now there is no rotational point of the hands. There is just collapsing of the barrel and top hand/arm into the body.

This is also what is called slotting and shifting, meaning the back arm/elbow is slotting while shifting the weight. It should be the rotation or swing initiation slots the back arm. Or that the swing is a sit and turn, the sitting/rotation slots the back arm. You don't want the barrel and back arm to collapse into the body as you shift the weight.

The position of the barrel in this picture makes it nearly impossible for her to swing around her forearm. First step is to prevent the barrel from falling so far in that direction.

It would help if you defined what you meant by a loop.

In a good swing the rear arm is not brought rearward simply to be brought forward along the same path ... there is a loop. Not understanding how to obtain this loop is where many fail in their journey.
