Our team faced this pitcher over the weekend. We handed her and her team their first loss of the allstar season. Our girls worked hard during the week knowing that they would face her during the tournament. One of our coaches saw the girl pitch during warmup. They had a radar gun and on her which indicated 45 mph. I'm sure during game situations she throws faster. More than 50? I doubt it.

Congratulations BCC. Sometimes a pitcher like this can serve as a good practice motivator .... not just for the players, but for the coaches as well. Nothing like well targeted practices.

Way to hit the "unhittable".

bcc69 - nice win on Sunday, gives us all hope with this team! We were warming up for our game and heard all of the screaming from your field as you came from behind to win it in the last inning. Good luck this Friday at Districts, you are in the tougher bracket.

Coach JV - I don't think anyone said an 8 YO is throwing more than 50mph. In 8U summer tournaments you have some 9 1/2 YO's (based on a 12/31 cut-off date) that are reaching the high 40's. In the fall they will move up to 10U.

Our girls played against the "unhittable" pitcher today. We got down 6-1, but rallied for 5 in the last inning to tie it. We went into tie breaker mode, only to lose it thanks to 3 blown calls by the ump. We brought out the radar gun today. For the record, the "unhittable" pitcher, topped out at 44 mph today.
