I believe this is how the lower body should move in a no stride approach, nice to see a amateur player master it. Trying to model my DD after this kid. Thoughts?

That's a great swing. Had my DD use this type of swing. (Albert style) And she hit well. But in order to gain a little more power she switch to a little stride. And although this hitter doesn't technically stride, her mass, belly button or torso does move laterally. Great swing!

It’s a powerful swing. Will work for that level. Hips firing before the hands is bad news.imo. Won’t work as she gets older.

No knock on Soriano. He coaches a lot of kids. Just using bad info. Again jmho. Take it for what it’s worth.

I've always found no-stride tough to do and create separation at the same time. Whenever I try a no stride approach it was alll back, all forward, sequence is off. This girl seems to have a lot of energy stored until heel plant at which point she unleashes, torso moves forward, hands remain back, remaining coiled until heel plant when she's in that nice stretched position. I love that swing. Now I need to teah my DD how to use her lower body and hips that way.

Thanks Ww.. can you show me a swing where hips is not firing before hands. I am not questioning you, just like to view both side by side. Thank you

DD has no stride swing.

What is interesting about the swing you posted is her swing starts with her frount foot turning a little more.

Just an observation not a criticism.

I like the way she remains coiled (or coils more as her body moves forward) until heel plant, and then she opens it up engaging her hips. A lot of the best hitters in the majors either land with their foot open or 45 degrees at heel plant, which causes their hips to open while upper body still remains closed.. classic stretch IMO

In all honesty I could. Or you could look at any HOF hitter. There hips LEAD. They don’t fire first: The front hip opens, the explosion you see is the backside coming through with the hands. Think of the body as 2 halves sagittally. The young lady posted works her load in the transverse plane.

Are you advocating the hands firing ahead of the hips/torso? If so ... please post a few examples.

Not at all. I am saying the body gets loaded front and back(sagittally). The hands fire with the backside release of the swing. The front hip and core opens to create leverage and store power. The backside finishes or fires whichever you like. If your saying the swing is fired with the core. I would disagree.
