Wanted some feedback from our very knowledgeable board members. DD is 11.

Not bad. Your DDs sequence is a tad off. Because of that , her swing never gets off the backside. She is leaking power. "Walk away from your hands" and "forward by coil" are the things that come to mind . Search these on the advanced search feature. Should help a lot . IMO.

Personally I'm not a fan of "show your numbers". I prefer "show your back pocket".

Some thoughts:

  • Back foot is angled towards the catcher. Straighten that out to provide more resistance for the coil.
  • Head is down looking at the ball before the swing. She should be looking out at the imaginary pitcher before finding the ball.
  • Hands are dropping a bit low, contributing to the uppercut swing.
  • Leaning back a little too much. Her head at contact is behind her back knee, contributing to the uppercut swing.

Overall, a very nice swing! Just needs some tweeks.

IMHO Thats a nice swing. Has she recently moved up bat size? I notice her lead arm sorta collapses into her torso, ever so slightly dragging bat. But there is a lot of good stuff happening in this 11 year old swing.

I agree. I would say quite the back knee to provide more resistance and shorten the swing too.

"Leaning back a little too much."
I agree with this too. Especially if she is being taught to lean back.

1) What is tilting if this girl is leaning back to much? I agree with you guys, just looking for a definition as to why she leaning back to much?

Personally I would say she isn't tilting toward the plate enough and then tilts rearward.

2) Yes she is counter rotating the shoulders to much, although this is common for youngsters on a tee. What does she do on front toss?

You have a video of a live arm swing (front toss or game) ? Personally my DD's tee swing is, for some reason, somewhat different
than her live arm swing and I have seen this in a lot of swings..especially with kids. The live arm swing is what you ultimately
want to be corrected if necessary.
