Is there such a thing as starting to early? I've asked this before and saw this clip today. Makes me think.

Some people want the hitter to start as they get the in the batters box. Other coaches dont understand rhythmic athletes and want a statue in the box. Both coaching styles have success.

Learn what allows Bonds to 'continue to load' when he was early/fooled.
If you do start 'early' or were fooled need to have the proper sequence where the hitter can 'continue', 'pulling back'. 'continuing the stretch', circling.....loading..what ever you want to call it.

Bond's wasn't fooled.. His pattern allows him to move out fastball and sit off-speed.

Kind of what I said..

So, he was expecting an off speed pitch. If he was why did he start early on this pitch and not get his front foot down on time instead of a head of time? Oh...he wanted to stick to his 'pattern' regardless/ill-regardless of 'timing' the ball in the air' and guess then adjust.

Should I have said 'pattern' .....
then would I 'be spot on'.

By definition fooled means that you are looking for one pitch and get a different one. So based upon what you are saying even if he knew an off-speed pitch was coming his swing would have looked exactly the same?? I mean BP is about that speed so his BP swing looks like the off-speed pitch swing?
Come on..he was able to adjust because of all the things he did right with his swing.

Fooled to me is not getting the read on the pitch.. Thought it was fastball based on spin and it was a changeup.
