Guess PGF went downhill in a hurry.
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt....
Guess PGF went downhill in a hurry.
...And the third base coach used some very DFP hitting forum type language to communicate with hitters.
Went to a 12u game and 18u game. In general, I thought the 12uers had better swing mechanics and hit the ball harder than 18uers. The 12u game (7 innings) had no walks and only 3 or 4 Ks and the defense was spectacular. The 18u game had multiple walks and Ks. The 18 u players seemed like they were just trying to make contact with short armsy swings. Kinda slappy swings (not much coil) with a lot of weak fly balls. I don't know why, just what i observed.
Also both 18u teams had slappers that were basically impossible to throw out if they got it on the ground. Both teams also employed some crazy defensive shifts against slappers.
I have seen that forum. I take it they were summarily ejected and sent to the parking lot?
Not uncommon for a parent to think like this. Had a parent try to tell me that 10U today is like what 18-Gold was two years ago.
I laughed. It always amazes me how far from reality some parents can be.

That is funny.
Do you think HL 10u is better today than 8 years ago? 4 years ago? The kids just keep getting better every year IMO. I credit the coaching.
