This is the best way to teach "Knob to the ball". When I got the opportunity to play for a team out of Baja California in my teens they would set up a high tee. Ball was set just to the left of the center of my chest. We would go "knob to the ball" and barrel would hit a punching bag. Sorry if it sounds confusing.I do what Harper is doing with a drastic change. I toss tennis balls up in the area of the shoulder while the hitter is in their stance. They have to hit the tennis ball with the knob. They can not push it away from the shoulder and down as Harper is doing. The reason I do the drill this way is that I want my hitters to point the knob and deliver the barrel. Typically, that knob travels about 2 inches and comes into connection with the shoulder complex when the drill is done correctly.
