I know, but the majority are. And the righties dont have the lead arm draped across the chest.

Actually the majority are not, there are more right handed hitters in this video... I agree the lead arm is not fully extended across the chest, but it doesn't look like the lead arm that the tool promotes either. regardless my DD's lead arm is barred way too much IMO.

If you watch this whole video

or skip ahead. He using armbar as a drill to demonstrate leverage. I don't know if that's a good idea.!?!In the end he get around to "act like your lead arm is in a cast- elbow stay at angle throughout swing. Thats not bad. I kinda like it. Of course the lead elbow will adjust to the pitch in game situation.

The lead arm is a lever in a good swing.

I agree. But would you do the armbar drill?

Also same guy says the hands should always stay outside the toe line. Thoughts?

No, I would not perform the arm-bar drill that was demonstrated ... although he did say it was simply to help a kid gain a feel for a kid that had a bad habit of folding-in their lead-arm.

I like the notion of a cast ... albeit a modified cast. The modified cast would not allow the lead-arm to fold-in, but it would allow the lead-arm to fold-out. The angle in the lead-arm should remain the same, or increase, from swing-launch to impact.

What's a modified cast?
