Do you think spinning off the ball makes the knob go below the front forearm or the knob makes you spin? Where is the breakdown? Also, I believe there was something call a Launch Laser that attacked to the knob of the bat and wondering if anyone has every used one. I can't find it or the name is wrong.

I teach knob of the bat towards the catcher in stance to get front shoulder pre-loaded. When initiating the swing i teach them to get the knob of the bat pointing at the ball. Pulling off the ball is gonna be a symptom of the stride foot opening early, the front shoulder pulling of the ball, or lack of forward momentum. Typically girls that get zero forward momentum in their swing are gonna have trouble staying on the ball. Teach front shoulder to the ball and check that the stride foot is turned slightly in during stance.

Have a friend that coaches at a very high level that teaches:

1. coil rear leg
2. hip and shoulder in the way
3. hips start with shoulder pointed at the opposite middle infielder
4. knob should be ahead of the rear elbow and snapped to the opposite middle infielder
5. back hip to the ball and snap the bat through the ball (pitcher) and get the knob back toward the pitcher as fast as possible while continuing to turn.

A lot more but 4 and 5 are what I would like you to commit on. Then tells me but I recruit hitters and don't teach much. LOL

Never thought about knob to the middle infielder but that's pretty close. Always thought out but for some this may help. I've seen different opinions on the knob in front of the rear elbow but IMO it should be in front. Is that what you are seeing?

If you talk about things like creating a corner then knob to the ball, deliver the barrel works well. At least that is what I use. Englishbey used to do a drill where he set up pads on the corner post of a ball diamond. Then, he would put a tee there and go through the sequence. When done correctly, the bat hits the pad flush. I don't have that drill saved but do have another where he uses a pad differently on a corner post of a diamond where he creates a corner. I might try to find it at some point but don't know if I can post it.
