I've always wanted more video of Sanberg, but this is the best I have.

Do you consider this a style? Moving forward with not very much loading backwards? Is this more of move quickly, instead of load early?

As you can see there is "some" loading back, just not very much. Is he using an weight shift as part of his swing/approach?

I agree, but why? Is it just as Dixon said (elite hitters move better) or are they loading the wrong thing?

Various reasons IMO.

Some have heard the phrase "stay back" and this is their interpretation.

Many feel that moving forward is 'wrong' ... and instead they do the opposite ... and for too long. They simply don't understand that good hitters do not stay back, but go forward ... and given that, they fail to grasp 'going forward with timing'. It is often something that needs to be taught.

I found an article on golf about stabilizing the back hip in the back swing. I look at it as a combination of vertical loading and hip loading against the back leg (the back leg loading).

Speaking of moving forward. I thought I would post this clip, it isn't the only swing I've seen where the center/hip move forward before striding.

The hips are positioned out front and there is no careless weight shifting happening.

This looks like it might be a good drill.

Hitters shouldnt move weight to back foot during load phase. The load occurs as the body moves forward. The front shoulder, hands, front hip all turn in slightly towards the catcher while moving forward
