I don't listen to Yeager. JMHO. But, show me a successful hitter that external rotates his/her rear humerus.
I know that Harper did in the past but, has since changed....

Up and over not good....

Barry Bonds was a successful hitter ....

So, you're saying Bonds externally rotated his rear humerus on every swing or just on the above gif.

I hope you are just teasing.

Not only did I not make such a statement, but you posted a video confirming the external rotation in Bonds' swing.

Maybe there is a misunderstanding of what ER is?

Rd, not trying to get into an argument here ... you made the following request ... "show me a successful hitter that external rotates his/her rear humerus", and I supplied video of external rotation of the rear humerus taking place in a hitter that was successful.

As an FYI, the following frames represent ER taking place in the video you posted.

As an FYI, this ER action with the hands being elevated is a fairly strong movement pattern ... not only did it work for Bonds, but it works for many others as well.

Just so that there is no confusion ... one does not ER the rear humerus all the way to contact. More, the early looseness in the rear shoulder does not inhibit early ER.

In the video that Rd supplied, the following frames represent ER.

If you go back to Rd's GIF and look at the movement into the next frame following the final frame in the GIF above, you will see that ER is being 'fused out' and is absent in the frames downstream from this.

Isn't supination ER of the forearm?

Supination is virtually the opposite of pronation.

Likewise, internal rotation is virtually the opposite of external rotation.

In terms of the 'forearm' I tend to speak of 'supination' and 'pronation'. In terms of the 'humerus' I tend to speak of 'internal rotation' and 'external rotation'.
