Not here.
Ok I think I disagree with 2,5,6!,11, and 22 on inside pitches. If I am understanding correctly. I really wanted to focus on scap. What is the difference between pinch or load?

Unpinched when? Depends on how good their timing is? Slightly ahead of pitch may cause unpinching prior to contact? I am all ears.

Is the drill where the hitters feet are (SnF .? I think) wide open a good drill and what does it teach?
The scap doesn't get loaded. The scap(back) loads the rear leg.

Thanks, Do you loose a lot of power if releasing pre impact?

IMO you shouldn't be purposely/actively attempting to pinch the rear scap ... more you should be permitting the 'compression' to build up (i.e., no purposeful pre-impact protraction) ... as you allow the pressure to build up you can have a feel of the rear scap being retracted/compressed.

As your swing progresses from 'swing launch' there can be a pressure build-up that gives the appearance/feel of the rear scap being retracted. That is a 'result', and not a forced action.

Thank you. How does the 'compression' build without attempting to pinch? What body movement causes the tension to build in the scap area?

Sometimes (oftentimes) I find it much easier to teach where, and when you want the bat/barrel in a particular location/position...than it is teaching some body part movement in an attempt to get the bat/barrel where, and when you want it.

IOWs, much easier to teach goals, and let the student learn how to get it done, rather than to start teaching some body part movements or contortions in an attempt to secondarily move bat/barrel.

Works for me anyway, I know others do it differently....and when all else fails, pattar's correct...."See the ball, hit the ball". :D

One thing that seemed to help a couple of kids I work with is to time your stretch not the ball and we never talk about loading. Gather and stretch. Now time the stretch. Has helped 3 out of 4. DD being the 4th one of course that it didn't seem to help.

As the lower body and core initiate the swing, you in a sense initially ‘lose the arm wrestling match’ … i.e., you ‘lag’ … and it is this ‘lag’ that gives rise to this pressure build-up (compression).

Much of this can be controlled simply from a proper sense of looseness (... while using the core/main-engine appropriately).

There should be a pressure build-up that has the rear scap being pressured towards the backside … … … it is a pressure build-up that folks want to feel, cherish and embrace … it is a pressure build-up that permits a transfer of energy through the body and through the rear shoulder, as opposed to ‘from the rear shoulder’ … it is a pressure build-up that some, unfortunately, sense as a power source that has them prematurely protracting their rear shoulder in what could be considered a ‘push’ … and for these folks it often helps to allow the hitter to permit the pressure build-up to occur dynamically (... and learn what is meant by initially 'losing the arm wrestling match').

‘lose the arm wrestling match’

If I understand you correctly, and I hope I am not( rear forearm flattening- like initially losing an arm wrestling match). I don't agree with this b/c many girls are going to lose the arm wrestling match all together, never getting their hands/arms back to a winning position.

There are two stages that I correlate to "losing the arm wrestling match".

1 ... the rear shoulder ... at 'swing launch'.

2 ... the rear forearm ... in the "throw down into the inverted vee" (coming out of the upright 'power-vee' orientation).

Missed this post earlier.

Very much agree with this approach.
