I'm sorry that I have too much 'passion' to help a hitter get better/be the best.

RHC put it more eloquently, I was going to say that everyone should put on their big girl panties and stop complaining to the teacher. I do not want heavy handed moderating in the tech hitting forum, it is what it is, sometimes useful, sometimes frustrating, often entertaining.

One of my coaching partners throughout the years loves this "Man In The Arena" speech. This sport is filled with Monday Morning Quarterbacks ..... parents/spectators that believe they could have coached the game better than he coached it.

Then go out and do it and stop wasting your time here arguing on a public board. If you want to get your knowledge out, set up shop at a Website
I already do/did that. The web site is called.....

In my opinion there are two types of posters in the hitting forums; those seeking advice and those willing to offer advice.

To those seeking advice - I have only been posting here for a little over a year. To my knowledge, I do not ever remember anyone being ridiculed when seeking advice. Typically the members do an excellent job of helping and being supportive. And the videos of the hitters are typically respected and simply used in the diagnosis. The negativity that I see is usually between senior members and not with new members looking for help. If you are new to the site and are seeking advice, there are several very knowledgeable people here who will try to help you. You be the judge for yourself.

To those offering advice - I greatly appreciate everything that the senior members do here. I have learned a great deal in my time here, and it is helping me help my daughter. Ultimately, that is why I came here to begin with. Some things that I thought I knew, I have realized that I didn't know. Some other things that I thought I knew have been supported by others here. In either case, it has been a learning process to me.

Where I think things get fuzzy is when the advice giver starts posting video of themselves and students. There are those that claim they want to see this video to show some type of validity to their teachings. To this I call BS. I don't care if they ever post videos of themselves or their students. When the advice is offered and explained, it is then my responsibility to study it, determine its validity (Hanson principle), and decide myself whether it is something I should teach to my daughter. I don't need the video as supporting evidence. IMO, some of the people searching for that video are only doing this so that they can then use that video to discredit the source.

disclaimer - I am not directing this at anyone in general. There are posters here that seek and offer advice that I respect greatly. I would be glad to discuss/debate this stuff with anyone, but I have no desire to take it any further than that. I have shared PMs with several of the senior members and greatly appreciate their help.

Heres what Happens.

Someone asks for advise.

someone gives it.

Some do not like others giving advise. criticism follows, along with old clip trying to discredit those offering advise.

Original poster goes away.

birds of a feather

So you would prefer who ever gives the first post of advice not be challenged or questioned on the advice they give? No checks or balances.

"Original poster goes away" I say that is another cop out that you few have no proof of. WHO? WHO went away? WHAT post?

No one has shown anything yet that goes against what I said earlier. Just more make believe drama. CB, you said it, one poster and they were banned right away. "MANY OTHERS"....WHO? WHAT POST?

JJ called it! Save the drama for your mama! You want everything just the way you like it, then do it your way. Way I see it, the ones you folks are whine about the most are the ones that can help your kids improve. You prefer pleasantries over you kid's improvement, softball connection is a great place for ya.

The thing is Mann, the Hanson Principle simply doesn't care 'who' the giver of advice is.

Hanson Principle:
Always compare what anybody tells you about the swing to slow motion clips of the best hitters in the world”.

My advice to any and all seeking Instruction. Use common sense. Use what works for you and your dd. Take what you read here and try it on for size and see how it feels. I dont know of anyone here that if you do not understand something in a thread that wouldent explain it in detail in a pm if you feel that is what is required.

Do not get caught up in the constant man hood size fights on here. Sometimes I believe half are in jest and some secretly have a man crush on each other.

Take what information you can use and take advantage of it. The rest of the drama just ignore it. It burns hot for a few days dies off and then finds life again on a new thread.

Exactly.
I just told SL last week that we need to get together to fish. I don't now about any "man crush" though.

I truly believe there are many MANY peaces of advice given here that is not in the best interest of your kids. Damn me for sticking up for you kid when you don't have the knowledge or guts to do it. I'm sure some (they are wrong) have the same feeling about the suggestions I make. Good, challenge it and I will do my best to support it. It may be an argument, but it won't be a whiny personal attack or make believe drama to cop out.
