Have you checked out the Garmin Impact Bat Sensor? We have used the Zepp and Garmin and we prefer the Garmin. It has a read out right on the screen where my dd can see her metrics immediately after every swing. There are great functionality options on the Impact app as well including a way to video your daughter, etc. It can be configured for multiple users and multiple bats. I really like it and the price point is comparable with the others on the market.

I don’t know what the difference is in price but I am watching the Diamond Kinetics sensor/app for coming upgrades.

It looks to me like they are working on a suite of softball apps including an “almost hittrax” function and pitch recognition app.

Most of what you just listed as options are also on the Zepp. Multiple users and bats, sharing ability, video and the ability to see the 5 main metrics instantly.

I have not tried any of the others. I didnt know that Garmin had a sensor. So I learned something new !

I must have an older Zepp because the sensor doesn't have a screen like the Garmin does. The actual sensor has a screen with a readout so you don't have to have it connected to the phone for the person swinging to see the metrics instantly.

Cool - I talk to my daughter a lot about where her ball goes and how her swing metrics affect it so she can get an idea of when she looks at the sensor after she swings what she might want to do to adjust her swing. We like to use it with front toss. she has a coach who plays men's fastpitch and he pitches pretty dang fast to the girls. She can instantly look at the sensor after a hit (good or bad) and see what her numbers were. She likes that so I don't have to yell info out to her during practice, lol.

My apologies up front for linking to another forum, but this might be of interest to those considering a Zepp product....

"Zepp is done"...
Blast has sued zepp for copyright infringement and court has ruled blast is right and now zepp soon will be out of business. Blast is currently doing the same with diamond kinetics.

I think that is terrible. Zepp was falling behind anyway but technological progress is not possible in a monopoly situation. The companies were pushing each other, now blast has no incentive to improve the product or price.

Further on down the thread there is this wrt folks trading in their Zepps for something else...

I found it... thank you for pointing it out.

I don't have or use any of them so not in a position of commenting on one being better or worse than another. But did know about the above lawsuit, and settlement...and just thought I'd pass that along for those making purchase decisions on any of them.

Just got the Blastmotion from the Zepp trade in. The Blastmotion provides a lot more metrics than the Zepp did out of the box and even more if you subscribe to their "premium" version. The two sensors seem to read VERY differently. Zepp seemed to consistently read everything much higher than the Blastmotion (bat speed, hand speed etc.). Blastmotion connects much easier to phone and doesn't crash like Zepp did. Blastmotion seems to have better tech, but Zepp had a much easier to use interface and better video review. The explanation of metrics and base comparisons are better on Zepp. Hopefully Blastmotion will buy the rights to Zepp's interface and incorporate that. Biggest complaint about Blastmotion so far (other than how complicated the interface is) is that it is a pain in the a$$ to get into the rubber holder. There's got to be some trick to this I haven't discovered yet.

We use it to "kinda" calibrate exit speed by getting desired exit speeds from Pocket Radar and seeing what the sensor reads to produce the desired speed. Then DD can have a general idea of exit speeds without having to set up the radar and have someone work it while she practices.

Nikkilugi,

What sensor are you using?
