The overhand throw does stress the elbow much more than pitching. The goal of both is to maximize ER and shoulder tension to increase snap. In pitching, brush interference provides a great way to stop the motion and force the snap to happen without overloading the elbow. In the over hand throw, there is no stopper for the elbow, it's basically going to keep seeing stress until forward arm motion starts to slow down and snap overcomes it.

You miss the point of this thread. For "A" athletes with a good natural glute response, it is simple... For a quad dominant kids if you don't teach quality hip hinge, your just going to get more knee bend and more bend in their lower vertebrae.

Ok so you are describing hinge and coil as two separate things. What is a hip hinge? if I'm coiling am I not also hinging? If I'm coiling and getting sat am I not hinging? Please describe the movement and how it differs from COILING!

All I want to know is what movement are you calling the hinge. If that is to hard of a question then so be it!

Back on the dirt...
My understanding of the hinge he is describing is bending forward at the hips. Bend forward at the hips and coil into back hip socket to get into the launch position. It’s really not that hard to follow to me.
