Ok. I'm just not getting exactly where in the swing your referring too. Swing launch? Barrel load? After the core has been stretched? Front lat fully stretched?

I like the term short hands if it means what I think it means.

The initial meaningful orbiting of the barrel should be right after the eyes have picked up location of the pitch . Imo.

Ok . So why would it be a wide arc if you used the knob to direct? I think that would be the shortest possible transition to arc the barrel tighter to the body so one can pass the ' mouse ' test. If there is a shorter way do tell. Your not saying use the barrel ? That would not be efficient and harder to control. IMO.

The purpose of this mouse test is to make sure the barrel gets behind the hands??? If I'm totally lost please point me to the exit. If I'm right please tell me why this is good.

FFS I think I get what you are saying but to nitpick, axes are lines hence they don't have width. Perhaps you are describing the position of the initial axes of rotation of the barrel with respect
to a position on the body?

I can see that my terminology here is confusing.

The axis of rotation moves forward as the swing progresses. By 'wide' I mean to refer to the arc of the barrel.

Dead hands that basically carry the barrel forward with the torso's rotation would result in what I refer to as a 'wide' arc .... as opposed to hands that begin to work/arc/turn/orbit the barrel with little forward movement.

So your wide refers to the distance, during the barrel arc/path, between the barrel and a point on the body? I am just trying to figure out what measurement you are using when you say wide, e.g. everybody knows what it means to have a wide waist ;)
