Just picked up a bat and tried a couple easy swings. One of the swings I am attempting to turn the barrel with my hands. Not worried about legs or anything else in these swings, just hands. Even though I failed, do you know which swing I attempted to turn the barrel? Figured I need to learn if I am going to teach my DD, :)

Please take it easy on me, it's been a while. LOL

Those 2 cuts look so similar its hard to tell. The second cut has a little deeper turn, so I'd say this was your attempt to turn the barrel.
The only thing I'm sure of was that unmistakable sound of a slow pitch ball... hard as a rock. probably a 450 or 500 comp?

I just have to laugh at the "slowpitch" ball. In our new transition to FP I bought 8 new, leather, FP balls. I had 2 slowpitch balls I had found at a field that I added to the bag. Anytime she hits them it just sounds like a "thud". You never have to guess the two. LOL

I also agree with James. If I had to guess, without slowing the video down, I'd guess #2 was your attempt to turn the barrel more. I'm still not good enough to start picking apart swings until I've downloaded and look at it frame by frame though.

Yes you are both correct, it was swing 2. I didn't really try to make anything obvious, just focused on trying to turn the barrel more with the 2nd swing. First ball was fastpitch ball, old red dot. its a small room so everything sounds a little different in there. BTW, on the youtube player you can slow the video down, not sure if you knew....

Not here.
No ceiling, higher tee.. how does this help me turn the barrel better. What's your thought process here?

My 'Thought process' is you're not turning the barrel'. Your dropping your hands for starters. I believe it's easier to learn to 'turn the barrel' on a higher tee.

Damn, and I thought it was a perfect swing, ..lol. That parts obvious, I was wondering why you believe it's easier to turn the barrel on a higher tee? And no ceiling??
