Also just so you know take everything I am telling you with a grain of salt..... I am still trying to learn myself so I may be wrong and right about somethings. This is my understanding of the questions you have asked.

Ok so your saying the pelvis controls the front leg being independent or not. Or are you saying the pressure between the legs is controlling it?

Im trying to learn too. I see muscles being a part of say a hip. Or a foot. Pressure between the legs cant be controlled with just bones as an example.

Yes and NO..... If the front leg is independent it isn't controlled by anything. It will move independently........ If you maintain the pressure between the legs. The rear leg moves the front leg, it will start to rotate inward pulling on the pelvis and in return the pelvis pulls the front leg into an outwards rotation.

So are you saying a hitter should maintain the pressure in the legs all the way to the hitting of the ball? So that way the front leg is not independent?

I consider the front leg a no teach..... My DD has worked with instructors before that wanted an independent front leg and they tried teaching it to her but did not stick..... The front leg is never part of my instruction with her.

Ok a third option. Funny around here another option besides right or wrong gets overlooked. LOL.

I am assuming that you are working with some hitters or daughter/daughters...... Post some video to get some direction from the members I think it will be much more beneficial then just asking random questions.
