So coachjd you dont think what Im saying is true? I just made it up out of the clouds. Heres the truth coachjd. Every time someone posts theres a different version of what you need to do to hit a ball. And their explanations as to why their version is so good arent very good explanations at all from what Im hearing.

So you've read through all the hitting threads in the <10 days you've been on the board?

Can you give me any examples of the regulars in the hitting threads having major disagreements on the hitting sequence? Not how that sequence is achieved, but what the sequence should be.

I'd like to know if there are major disagreements in this area because, as someone who is still learning, I think I have a pretty good grasp on what is generally accepted in this regard. Maybe I'm mistaken.

If a batter's weight gets over their front door they are beat. All hitters or at least fundamentally sound ones keep their weight centered. Ie bonds etc

Exactly and that is the difference with throwing and hitting...... You can shift early when throwing and still get a good throw off but if you do it when hitting the pitcher will own you.......

I just want to know what this "agreed on" sequence is. On the message boards I'm on no one agrees about anything at all.

Tewkersman you do know the weight shift discussion is useless comparing pitching and hitting dont you? Pitching and hitting both are about controlling the core. You said keep it in the middle. Thats what pitchers do just like Aaron did when hitting. There is no shift early.

The sequence as I understand it: coil - stretch - direct - load - launch

Of course there is overlapping during the sequence . It seems that people disagree on HOW to get to each desired position and WHAT gets you to each desired position. If you have the RIGHT intent with the hands and your lower body never stops loading , the sequence is not as mystical as it seems .

The shoulders to me are not a significant part of the puzzle. In fact I NOW NEVER talk about the shoulders or hips in a good sequence . Those cues usually just get you a slow bulky non adjustable swing when speaking with younger athletes. Jmho.

I talk glutes, weight transfer, stretch and direction and of course timing the pitcher with my hitters/team. As said on this board a million times ' educated hands the most important thing in the sequence.' Or TURNING THE BARREL as some like to call it.

But you really need all to have a complete sequence. Again JMO.

At ~3:08 “You are thinking of creating bat speed with your shoulders, not your hands.

Good comment for those that truly understand what is meant.

I think that you are implying that you want to have shoulder speed by the use of the core? If that is incorrect do you mind elaborating on what you believe is meant by that statement.

That first sentence is what I'm talking about, though not sure what you mean by "direct" (I probably do know and just don't think of the word "direct" for some reason). I don't know if there's anybody here who doesn't agree you coil before the load, for example.
