I’m wondering if (yet again) there’s two different definitions or assumptions being used for the same term - axis of rotation?
Maybe not so much as what it means, but _what_ is being rotated. The way FFS is using it (initial axis...), I believe he’s referring to the whole body - or at least core - being rotated.
When I read Buttermaker’s reference to the rear forearm as the axis, I interpret that it’s the bat being rotated.
What I can’t follow / figure out is if Buttermaker is saying the axis is never the lower back, and instead starts in the rear leg before switching to the rear forearm.
Also seems like there’s different definitions of separation being used - one a “+”, the other a “-“. But I can’t determine what makes one version better or worse than the other.
I know, I know... “Welcome to the technical hitting thread”.
