Absolutely. The camera angle skews the look but the hands never leave the rear shoulder. The barrel is turned about the hands and the rear leg turns it forward.

So the rear leg is turning while the torso (back) resist's, that is why the hips still look loaded? Or should I say the torso is still coiled/stretching.

Exactly. The pelvis is part of the top. The bottom of the top to be more accurate. The leg turning forward tightens the coil because the back/torso is resisting getting turned forward. This is called hip socket separation instead of waist separation. I made these crude graphics to illustrate the difference.

And when I talk of tilting it has to happen at the hip socket and not via a bend of the spine. The spine will bend as part of the tilting/resistance/rear leg actions.

The tilt is hard to see until you feel it. Then you can see it.

Jim Dixon Sr.:
THE TORSO -
Take off the shoulders and the arms, the neck, head and the legs from the crotch down and call what's left the Torso. The Torso includes the back, sides, stomach, buttocks, chest, and upper thighs.

- the largest muscle mass in your body, provides the energy the Exceptional Player uses to throw 95 mph and hit 450' line drives.

I dont use either one!

My focus is resisting what the shoulders naturally want to do, OPEN!

The bat path is a force on the handle into swivel around the forearm!

The rest is marketing!

USE YOUR HANDS!

Getting youth hitter to keep from spinning is the hard part. These twitter guys that take trained athletes. Show them something, and claim them is something I see happening more and more. Its much harder to develop your kid and other kids from day 1!

This hitting thing is laughable! Its not that hard!

Teach them not to pull the bat in with the elbow. Teach them to resist back ( show them how )

Most of the things we harp on are non teach.

Hit the ball at jut, You cant hit the ball at jut if your elbow/shoulder is flying open
Hit the ball as the barrel is coming out of its downward plane.
Getting them to trust this depth is hard!

Getting younger kids to do this is hard! REAL HARD!

Posing on twitter is easy!

Using the GIF provided elsewhere in this thread [below], how would you instruct a hitter to use their hands that would have their body moving as it does below?

FFS, the first thing I thought about watching that was JBooth's explanation and the contraption he build. Do you have that video?

Sorry CB, don't have Jim's demo handy.

In the video above there is a conclusion of the 'ferris wheel' and 'merry-go-round' with a dry swing that has a look of starting as a 'ferris wheel' and finishing as a 'merry-go-round'.

Yes this is what I always thought. Although I'm questioning how exactly the torso is used. We all know what Dixon came up with and Sr came to the conclusion that his early work was wrong.
